Celebrating 20 Years in 2010!

Created in 1990 to celebrate the city of De Pere’s 100th Anniversary, Celebrate De Pere started as a one-day event, and has since evolved into one of Wisconsin’s premier outdoor festivals. Driven by an all-volunteer staff, the event’s mission is to help local non-profit groups raise money for their many different causes.  The event itself supports local causes with its proceeds.

Each year local causes are evaluated by The Celebrate Committee, Inc. and funds are distributed. Since 1990, Celebrate De Pere has helped raise over 1.5 million dollars for these organizations: Vietnam Veterans, De Pere VFW, De Pere Beautification Committee, Cerebral Palsy Center, Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, De Pere Youth Hockey, De Pere Fire Department, De Pere Christian Outreach , De Pere Optimists, De Pere High School Redbirds Girls Softball, De Pere Wrestling, West De Pere Booster Club, De Pere and West De Pere High Grad Bash/Lock-in, De Pere Police Department, Boy Scouts, De Pere Rotary Club, 432nd Family Readiness Group, Oneida Relay for Life, De Pere Historical Society, the Kress Family Library, Syble Hopp School, NEW Service Dogs, Bay Area Humane Society, and more.

Here are a few words of thanks from some of our recipients:

“Your support and donations help De Pere Christian Outreach complete its mission of providing to the poor.  We have been able to provide help to many patrons with their family expenses, such as rent, utilities, food, clothing, gas, family needs and medical expenses”–De Pere Christian Outreach

“Each year the Bay Area Humane Society & Animal Shelter cares for nearly 6000 homeless and unwanted animals.  Your donation directly benefits the shelter and is used to house, feed, and provide medical care and other programs for homeless, abused and unwanted pets”–Bay Area Humane Society

“Each year Bryan’s Angel Classic continues to advance its mission of improving the quality of life for children with cancer and for their families.  We do this through helping them with day to day expenses, giving them venues to make family memories and just trying to take away some of the stress of battling this disease.  With the help of donations from thoughtful  groups such as yours, making a difference in the lives of the families will be possible”–Bryan’s Angel Classic

“Celebrate De Pere is a wonderful community event and we are proud to be one of its charitable recipients.  Your contribution will fuel our efforts in building a stronger community through volunteerism”–The Volunteer Center of Brown County

“You’re the best!  Thank you for your support for your local chapter of the American Red Cross and your donation. The Red Cross Lakeland Chapter was happy to help with Celebrate De Pere”–American Red Cross

“On behalf of the American Cancer Society and the 2009 Oneida Relay for Life Committee, please accept our sincerest appreciation for your support of Oneida’s 13th Annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life.  The monies raised at our relay will be used for patient and family services, education on early detection, nutrition, tobacco, as well as cancer research projects”  –Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin
